Video for Kids

I’ve been working as an early educator for the last thirty-three years. Every now and then I’m reminded that there are children I once worked with who are now in their thirties. Their thirties! Can you believe that? Some of these kids are now older than I was when I started working in early education. I think a big part of why I became an early educator was because I had so many siblings. Don’t ask me why my parents thought eight kids was a good idea in this modern world. Then again, there are two sets of twins in the family, but you’d think after the first set, my parents might have thought to reign it in. I figured that since I’ve spent so many years looking after my siblings, neighbours, and family friends’ kids it only made sense for me to move into some sort of child education role.

I’m seeing huge technology shifts in the industry. Students are getting adapted to digital media earlier in their lives. I think this is good if done in moderation. I’m trying to find a 2d animation company near me for a video idea I have. I’m getting many reports from parents that their children are finding the thought of moving from pre-school into ‘real school’ daunting. I’ve written a short animation series that depicts the typical school experience for a prep student, while still making it fun. I think showing this video resource in class and making it available to parents will help to ease the child’s needs when it comes to the shift into schooling.

It’s not that easy to find a good video production company. Melbourne simply has so many video production companies but animation is a very specific skill. I’m so excited for this video as I’d love to be able to share my vision with a team and make it come to life. I’ve shared the news with the parents at my centre in hopes they might have some contacts.
